Whether you are gawking at 800 year-old churches or gyrating in a hole-in-the-wall clubs, the country’s main attraction is its people. It is as though Ethiopians have been trained in being pleasant. Coupled with their sense of humility this is often simply stirring physical beauty. Ethiopians are the most friendly, honest and respectful people. This is the main reason why many consider Ethiopia as their second home. Nelson Mandela wrote in his autobiography, “Ethiopia always has a special place in my imagination and the prospect of visiting Ethiopia attracted me more strongly than a trip to France, England and America combined. I felt I would be visiting my own genesis, unearthing the roots of what made me an African”.
