How big are the groups?
Our groups are limited to maximum 8 persons. However, we can arrange trips for 1 passenger.
What are our accommodations like?
We use the following hotels in Addis Ababa and outside of Addis Ababa. 5-star and 4-star hotels in Addis Ababa, 3-star hotel, lodges and local hotels outside of Addis Ababa. We always book the best available accommodation for you.
What weather should I expect in Ethiopia?
This depends on where you are going. In most of the country, the main rainy season runs from June to September, with short rains in March. In the Omo and Mago parks however, in Southern Ethiopia, the seasons are different with the main rains from March to June, and shorter rains in November.
With the upgrading of the airports along the historic route (Axum, Lalibela, Gondar and Bahir Dar), it is now also possible to visit the northern route during the rainy season. For travelers who do not mind waiting out a downpour (usually followed by brilliant sunshine) there are certain rewards when travelling during the rainy season. Prices are generally lower and you have the attractions largely to yourself. The countryside is a green and full of crops and flowers.

Do I need a Visa to come to Ethiopia?
No visa is required for the nationals of Kenya Djibouti, and The Sudan. In addition, nationals of the following countries can easily get a visa on arrival in the airport.
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China. Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korean Republic, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherland, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States of America
Nationals out of the mentioned countries above may apply for a visa at the Ethiopian Diplomatic Mission Offices.
Is it safe to travel in Ethiopia?
Ethiopia is generally a safe country, and Addis Ababa a safe city. However, one should still take the normal precautions, avoiding unfamiliar areas at night and not carrying large sums of money in accessible pockets. It is advisable to beware of pick-pocketing in certain areas, skilled at identifying new arrivals. Violent robbery and mugging are very rare and generally visitors can tour the city day and night safely. In fact, safety is one of the main factors contributing to the unique atmosphere in Ethiopia.
How do we travel while in Ethiopia?
We use comfortable ground transportation and/or domestic flights, and boats on the Blue Nile, Lake Tana and Lake Chamo.
Which airline flies more often to Addis Ababa (ADD)?
There are many international airlines flying to and from Addis Ababa (ADD). Ethiopian Airlines has daily flights from multiple cities in Europe, U.S.A and Asia. The following airlines also fly to and from Addis Ababa, most of them also daily from Europe and U.S.A: Lufthansa, KLM, Emirates Airlines, Gulf Air, Turkish Airlines, BMI and Egypt Air.
What about the temperatures?
Ethiopia’s climate reflects its topography. The highlands have a moderate clima with average daytime temperatures of around 60°F (16°C). The far south and the eastern lowlands are hot and dry; the western lowlands are hot and humid. The Simien and Bale Mountains can get cold at night with temperatures below the freezing point.

What is the best time to visit Ethiopia?
Ethiopia can be visited at any time of the year. People are often advised against travelling during the rainy season, which normally runs from June until early October. However, this time has also its own advantages depending on where you go. In September and early October the scenery is particularly beautiful when the landscape is still green and whole country is turned into riot of wild flowers. The ideal time to visit Ethiopia is probably between October and April when rains are over, the countryside is still green and all roads should be accessible.
